5 Unique Ways to Really Enjoy Your Summer Vacation
If you are facing down the barrel of summer vacation with a little bit of dread, you are probably not making the most of the free time you have on your hands. End your summer vacation without a stitch of regret with these tips on enjoying your summer vacation.
1) Leave the work, at work.
If you are taking a long vacation and work full time, don’t take your work with you. Turn your work email off and make sure your employer and coworkers know you won’t have access to email while you are gone. If you absolutely have to keep in touch with your work, limit how often you check in.
2) Take the vacation you really want.
It isn’t wrong to admit that you want to have a stay at home vacation. Whether it’s a whole week or a few days, use your staycation to catch up on home projects, appointments, and just relaxing. You don’t need huge adventures to share at work to enjoy your time off. Contact your RV dealers to buy an RV or plan a European vacation or don’t go anywhere at all.
3) Stay off social media.
It can be an addiction to find the most instagram worthy photo but staying off of social media can be an excellent way of being present during your vacation. Take as many photos as you want, but worry about posting them later.
4) Take mini vacations.
It may not be a big trip to Europe, but plan several trips over the summer. Budget for each trip and plan ahead for where you want to go. It can make your vacation last longer and feel like you are doing more to enjoy it.
5) Plan to relax.
This means a few days before hand, getting everything out of the way that feels like an errand. Go to the bank, pay the bills, stock up at the grocery store. The last thing you want your vacation to feel like is a home version of being at work.
